Research Interests

I am interested in developing efficient computational means for real-time generation of complex (and long term) musical and sonic structure, using MAX/MSP/Jitter and general programming languages. Some of the materials developed by this research will be used for systematic assessment of the degree to which the digitally defined segmentation in such music and sound are cognitively assessible, and whether they have any bearing on the affective impact of the sounds. Somewhat similarly, I work on sonification (using sound to display data efficiently to users). I am also interested in real-time verbal interactivity on a computer or web interface, and extending algorithmic control of text selection, manipulation and output in response to user input, to control of sound files in an analogous way.
