Research Interests

I am in the process of starting a PhD at the University of Tasmania under Prof Chris Lueg and Dr Vishv Malhotra. As my dissertation will focus on mashups (data and services), Prof Lueg suggested I attend the workshop as it was directly related to my research area of mashups. I am currently employed as a software engineer by CSIRO ICT in Hobart, Tasmania. My current work focuses on how semantic web based approaches can be applied to bioinformatics. This includes service discovery, domain and service ontologies, workflows, provenance, information retrieval, grids, and visualisation. Part of the work tries to solve a mashup problem related to combining genetic annotations from different sources. Hence it would be interesting to get different perspectives on mashups during the workshop.
