Research InterestsMy research interests are in the extraction and syntactico-semantic
classification of multiword expressions, deep lexical acquisition, and also
machine translation, computational lexical semantics, and the interface
between theoretical and computational linguistics. Current research projects I
am actively involved in include the NICTA I2D2 project, in which I am working
on geospatial and temporal tagging; an ARC e-Research project on discovering
and classifying language resources on the web, in which I am working
principally on language identification for languages of all densities; an ARC
Discovery project on information extraction from user forum data, in which
I am currently working on broadening the coverage of deep linguistic
resources; and a research project with the NTT Communication Science
Laboratories, in which I am working on the interaction between word sense
disambiguation and parse disambiguation.
