Research InterestsMy research areas include the processing of bio-signals for applications in Human computer interaction and rehabilitation. My research work includes the reliability and feasibility of using facial electromyography for recognition of speech and emotions. This research is conducted to investigate the use of facial muscle activity for a reliable interface to identify voiceless speech based commands without any audio signals. System performance and reliability have been tested to study inter-subject and inter-day variations and impact of the native language of the speaker. Currently working on the use of muscle activity signal (sEMG) for identification of subtle gestures for human computer control. Two of my papers in this related work has been awarded ‘Best Paper’ award in international conferences. Representative Publicationshttp://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1273390&dl=GUIDE&coll=GUIDE
