Research Interests

The current application area of my research is Audio-Visual Automatic Speech Recognition (AV-ASR) by computers. This research encompasses many areas including computer science, linguistics and psychology and has touched specifically on visual feature extraction and the adaptive fusion of the acoustic and visual signals at the level of the phoneme and distinctive features. As a Cognitive Science graduate my interests also extend to langauge and general learning in humans and the development of communication between (artificial) organisms.
