The 2007 HCSNet Summer School will be held on Monday 3rd December and Tuesday 4th December, 2007. Participation in the Summer School is open to all Australian graduate and senior undergraduate students, and established and early career researchers in universities and in industry with an interest in Human Communication Science.
The aim of the Summer School is to provide an opportunity for students and staff to hear about hot topics and the latest research in this new inter-disciplinary area. Summer School units are led by leading researchers from psychology, linguistics, computer science, language technology, speech science, music, and engineering. This year's Summer School will consist of 12 x 3-hour units, plus several interactive sessions. On such interactive session is the new 'Meet-the-Presenter' session which will be held on Tuesday afternoon and is designed give students and non-students alike time to ask questions and talk informally with the various Summer School presenters.
You can mix and match the following Summer School units to best suit your needs and interest, however there is a deliberate mix of introductory and advanced units where the advanced units build on the more general topics discussed in introductory sessions. The units to be offered in 2007, together with the names of Summer School presenters, can be found below.
