Social events will be a major focus over the week of SummerFest '06. The social events are open to everyone attending the conference so please come along and enjoy yourself! Details of the events planned for the week are listed below:
Student Poster Evening
The student poster session will be held on the evening of Monday 27 November with plenty of food and drinks to keep the atmosphere lively, informal and social. The idea is for students to showcase their work and research interests on poster boards around the room and allow everyone the opportunity to view what their peers and colleagues are currently working on. Along the way, we hope you’ll get to meet new people, enjoy a drink and a bite to eat with your peers and also receive useful feedback on your own research ideas. The poster evening is particularly recommended for students, however it is open for everyone to attend. There is no cost to attend and it is guaranteed to be a fun evening...come along and join us!
SummerFeast (Conference Dinner)
This year's conference dinner will be held on the evening of Wednesday 29 November in the Holme Building Refectory. The conference dinner is the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax with friends and colleagues whilst enjoying a sumptuous 3-course meal and beverage package. The conference dinner is being offered for a subsidised cost of $30 for non-students and $20 for students and payment will be required at the time of registration. Partners are very welcome at the conference dinner - please indicate on your online Registration Form if you will be bringing a guest. It is a night not to be missed and we look forward to seeing you there!
Music Recital: Merimba Plus!
A music recital will be held as part of the Perception and Action Workshop. Please come along and join us for a highly entertaining music performance by Mary Broughton, Sarah Broughton and Dominic Harvey. The repertoire includes five pieces of music with a total duration of approximately 50mins. The recital is open to everyone (not just those attending the Perception and Action Workshop) so please join us. More details about the recital, including a short bio on each of the performers can be found by clicking here.
Social BBQ Evening
A social BBQ will be held on the evening of Thursday 30 November. The BBQ is designed to get everyone together for a social chat and bite to eat and confer on the conference so far. The BBQ is open for everyone to attend and we would love to see you there. There is no charge to attend and there will be plenty of food and drinks for all...you don't want to miss it!
