Archaeology of gatherer-hunters (comparative studies of societies which subsist on and manage wild foods; evolution of gathering-hunting peoples; early domestication; with Mr Bill Ellwood). Archaeology of northern Australia (living-floor archaeology; direct dating of rock surface accretions; Indigenous rights and heritage; with Dr Mireille Mardaga-Campbell and Dr Alan Watchman). Archaeology of northern Europe (Palaeolithic and later; adaptations to glacial conditions; colonisation of North Atlantic; supervision of PhD work on Last Glacial Maximum; with Mr Nathan Walker). PhD in Personalisation of Enterprise Search Engines, RMIT UniversityWe are seeking a PhD candidate to undertake research in the area of personalisation of enterprise search engines consistent with the program outlined in the funded ARC Linkage Grant "Accurate Context-Aware Search for Managed Document Collections" held by Prof Justin Zobel, Dr Andrew Turpin and Dr Falk Scholer. The successful applicant will enrol in the PhD program offered by the School of Computer Science and Information Technology at RMIT University, and will receive an annual stipend of AUD 24,650. Interaction Design for Children, 11-13 June 2008, Northwestern University in Chicago, USAEach year, IDC brings together the leading researchers, designers, and developers of children's technology to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends in interaction design for children. This year's conference theme is "Think Outside the Toybox," and in addition to sessions on videogames and other toys, IDC08 will have sessions on educational technologies, online communities, assistive technologies, and a special pre-conference workshop on designing for children with disabilities.
