The NTCIR-7 Workshop Meeting will be held on December 16-19, 2008,
at NII in Tokyo, Japan. Anybody who is interested in research areas
related to NTCIR, such as Information Retrieval, Natural Language
Processing, and Data Engineering, is welcome to attend and join the
discussion.

Last year, more than 200 attendees from 18 different countries
contributed to discussion and exchanging the experiences with one another.
Among them about half were researchers participated in the "task(s)"
set by NTCIR, and others contributed to fruitful discussion.

At NTCIR-7 Meeting, active information access (IA) researchers will get
together again and share their experiences, and discuss the future plan
and the roadmap for leveraging the IA research.

NTCIR-7 has hosted the following six tasks.
* Complex Cross-Lingual Question Answering
* Information Retrieval for Question Answering
* Multilingual Opinion Analysis
* Multimodal Summarization and Trend Information
* Patent Mining (Classification and Information Retrieval)
* Patent Translation

The overview and system papers will be presented at the Meeting
on DAY 2-4 (December 17-19).

The first day of the Meeting will be a Tutorial and EVIA 2008
(the Second International Workshop on Evaluating Information Access).

The full registration fee for non-students includes one copy of
the proceedings, three lunches, three light refreshments for
breakfast, banquet, and coffee breaks.

If you are a student, the meeting is free of charge!!!
Three light refreshments for breakfast and coffee breaks will be
served.

Students can also purchase the printed proceedings and lunch/banquet
tickets with a reasonable price.

and after the Workshop Meeting.
