Workshop Venue

The Workshop will be held in the CSIRO Conference Room, CSIRO ICT, Building E6B, Macquarie University, North Ryde, Sydney. A Macquarie University campus map is attached and campus maps are also available at http://www.ofm.mq.edu.au/maps_campus.htm. Audio Visual Equipment

The CSIRO Conference Room is equipped with a data projector and an overhead projector. There is also a desktop computer if participants bring slides on USB stick, otherwise participants can plug in their own laptop. Limited wireless access is available, please notify Rosemary Eliott in advance of the workshop if you require any special connectivity.

 

Registration

The Workshop registration form is available at http://www.hcsnet.edu.au/files2/NGS07RegistrationForm.doc and should be completed and returned to Rosemary Eliott by Monday, 9 July 2007.

 

Times

The Workshop will commence at 9:00am on Thursday 19 July and end at 5:15pm on Friday 20 July. The program and abstracts are available at http://www.hcsnet.edu.au/workshops/next-gen-search07. Presenters are asked to please check that details in the program and abstract pages are correct, and that you will be able to present at the given time. Please notify Rosemary of any amendments.

 

Meals and Refreshments

Lunch and morning and afternoon tea will be served on Thursday and Friday at the times designated in the program. Please indicate any special dietary requirements in the registration form attached.

 

Workshop Dinner

HCSNet will be hosting a Workshop Dinner at 7:00pm on Thursday, 19 July at the Mediterranean Gourmet Pizza Restaurant, 1 Trafalgar Place, Marsfield. Please indicate if you wish to attend on the registration form.

Transport links

 

Travel Support

Workshop participants who have been awarded travel support are asked to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements and submit receipts to Rosemary Eliott at the workshop who will arrange for cheque/EFT reimbursement. Any additional receipts should be posted to Rosemary as soon as possible after the workshop. Please note that if you will be driving to the workshop, we can only reimburse receipts for petrol expenses (not kilometre allowance).

 

Car Parking

If you require a car parking voucher to park at Macquarie, please indicate this on the registration form. The closest car parks to the workshop venue are: F3A, E1, C3 or C2 (enter from Waterloo Road).

Facilities

The Macquarie University campus includes eating and sporting facilities, banks, post office and chemist. The University is within walking distance of Macquarie Centre, a shopping mall with a food hall and a variety of shops.

 

Getting to Macquarie University by taxi and public transport

Taxi

From Sydney airport, a taxi will cost about $65.00 and take around 40 minutes.

Train

Epping station is the closest train station to Macquarie. A regular bus service runs between Epping station and Macquarie (Buses 140, 288, 289, 290, 294, 295 and 296).

Bus

Buses 288, 289, 290 and 292 all service Macquarie from the CBD (Wynyard or Town Hall).
