Transport from the Airport to the University of Melbourne

Taxis are available from the ground floor level of Melbourne Airport, outside the domestic terminal. Expect to pay around $50 for a trip to Carlton. Delegates arriving at the same time at the Airport may wish to consider sharing taxis or booking a maxi taxi (through taxi attendants outside the main entrance) to reduce travel costs. Delegates may also wish to consider this option for travel to the Airport at the conclusion of the Workshop. Skybus offers a shuttle bus service from the airport to the CBD and city hotels. Buses run every 10-15 minutes throughout the day. An adult one way ticket costs $15/$24 return. If you wish to catch the Skybus, the trip to the CBD takes about 20-25 minutes. You need to alight at the coach terminal at the intersection of Spencer and Little Bourke Streets, take a 1 minute walk to Bourke Street, catch tram 86 or 96 along Bourke Street (for 6-7 minutes), get off at the intersection of Bourke and Swanston Streets and then take a 10 minute tram trip along Swanston Street (trams 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 or 72) which will take you to Carlton.
