HCSNet HCD Workshop Delegate InformationDateThe Workshop will be held on Saturday, 15 September 2007 at the University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Brisbane. Workshop VenueThe Workshop will be held in Building 39A (General Purpose North Building) Room 208, the University of Queensland. A St Lucia campus map is available at http://www.uq.edu.au/maps/index.html?menu=1 and a building location map is available at http://www.hcsnet.edu.au/files2/Building_39A.JPG Audio Visual EquipmentThe venue is equipped with a slide projector, OHP, and data projector. A desktop computer is available if participants bring slides on USB stick, otherwise participants can plug in their own laptop. RegistrationThe Workshop registration form is available at http://www.hcsnet.edu.au/hcsnetevents/2007/hcdworkshop and should be completed and returned to Rosemary Eliott by 10 September, 2007. Presenters are asked to please check that details in the program are correct, and that you will be able to present at the given time. Please indicate any special dietary requirements in the registration form attached. Workshop DinnerThe Workshop Convenors will be hosting a Workshop Dinner at 7:00pm on Saturday, 15 September 2007, at the 'hundred acre bar', St. Lucia Golf Links, Carawa Street, St. Lucia - http://hillstonestlucia.com.au Please indicate if you wish to attend on the registration form. The 'hundred acre bar' has recently been awarded Brisbane’s Best Café Restaurant 2007 by the Restaurant and Catering Queensland Association. It is located approximately 3 kms from the University of Queensland. Travel SupportWorkshop participants who have been awarded travel support are asked to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements and submit receipts to Rosemary Eliott (mailing address below) who will arrange for cheque/EFT reimbursement. Any additional receipts should be posted to Rosemary Eliott as soon as possible after the workshop. Please note that if you will be driving to the workshop, we can only reimburse receipts for petrol expenses (not kilometre allowance). Car ParkingThere will be plenty of car parking available, both on-street in Campbell Road and Blair Drive, or in the open air carparks across the road from the venue. There is undercover parking at the university end of Sir Fred Schonell Drive, which is a 2-3 minute walk to the venue. All car parking is free on weekends. The University is within walking distance of a shopping villiage with a supermarket and a variety of shops. Getting to the University of Queesland by taxi and public transportTaxiFrom Brisbane airport, a taxi will cost about $45.00 and take around 25 minutes. BusesBrisbane City Council buses operate from the bus stop in Chancellor's Place near the J. D. Story Building, St Lucia and via the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. FerryBrisbane City Council CityCat services operate along the Brisbane River between Hamilton and St Lucia. They run about every half-hour from 6am to 10.30pm daily. Ferry timetables are available from the Student Centres or by phoning TransLink on 131230 or from their website: http://www.translink.com.au TrainToowong Station on the Ipswich line is the nearest train station to St Lucia campus, necessitating a short journey by buses which leave every 15 minutes from a nearby bus stop.
